Redaction Methods

The Redact-It Enterprise Server can monitor a directory (including subdirectories) for files to process, or it can be integrated with existing systems to redact and convert files as part of your business processes. Redact-It provides integrators with a solution to redact legacy documents and new documents capable of handling any demand load.

Text-based redaction

Create a simple text file containing reoccurring string phrases to redact, with corresponding exemption code (redaction reasons) and that's it.

Text pattern recognition

Redact-It comes pre-loaded with standard text patterns so you can automatically redact all instances of standard items: 

• All variations of a person's name (John Doe, John A. Doe, Mr. Doe, etc.)
• Social security numbers
• Phone numbers
• email addresses

You can also create custom pattern searches for any business need, such as account or ID numbers.

Zone-based redaction

Redact-It can also perform zone-based redaction. Useful for scanned documents, such as contracts, or standard forms.

Add security and other information

Use a simple, easily scripted XML file to add a watermark or print/onscreen banners to the redacted output files displaying status, bates numbers, copyright information and more. When publishing to CSF .htm"> secure CSF   you can also add these additional security controls:

• Password protection
• Expiration date
• Restrict copy, print and other user rights

Easy visual verification and one-off redactions

Use Redact-It Desktop to verify redactions, perform additional redaction or perform one-off redactions outside the automated or batch process. Distribute finalized, redacted output files with the free Brava Reader (views TIFF, PDF and secure CSF ).
